Why I built QuoTrak

I've done all kinds of contracting work for over 15 years. Along the way I've used a lot of quoting and invoicing software, and none of it fit what I was looking for.

Most of it wanted to be a big CRM, or accounting software with a quote screen bolted on. I didn't need any of that. All I wanted was to build a quote, track my costs and see my margin while I built it, then invoice the customer without any fuss.

Nothing fit the bill, so I built it. QuoTrak is the tool I wanted, plus the best features I picked up from all the other tools I used over the years.

What QuoTrak does (and doesn't)

• Quotes with your numbers in view. Costs and margin update as you add line items, in the Internal Workshop your customer never sees.
• Quote to invoice in one click. Once the job is approved, the invoice is already written.
• Getting paid. Send invoices by email and take card payments through Stripe on the Pro plan.
• No CRM, no accounting package. If you keep books in QuickBooks or Xero, QuoTrak sends your invoices to them instead of trying to replace them.

There's a free plan with unlimited quotes and invoices, so you can try it on real jobs before paying anything.
