QuoTrak vs Jobber
Jobber runs the whole service business: scheduling, dispatch, booking, invoicing. QuoTrak does one job: price work so it makes money, then invoice and get paid. Here's how they compare, honestly.

Which should you pick?
You're a solo tradesperson or a small crew and the problem is pricing and getting paid
You want to see your margin while you quote, convert the quote to an invoice in one click, collect by card, and not pay $150+ a month to do it.
You dispatch a crew and need scheduling, routing and customer messaging in one place
Jobber's calendar, dispatch board, online booking and two-way texting are the core of the product. If that's what runs your day, it's the better fit.
The short version
Jobber is field service management software: it schedules jobs, dispatches technicians, lets customers book online and message you, and also quotes, invoices and takes payment. It's priced for that scope, from $29 USD a month for one user on an annual plan up to $399+ for a team, with job costing only on the Grow plan and above.
QuoTrak is quoting and invoicing software for trade contractors. It doesn't schedule or dispatch. What it does that Jobber doesn't is show your profit margin on every line as you build the quote, on every plan, including the free one. Pro costs $12 USD a month billed annually, with no per-user fees, and adds email sending, payment links, job costing, change orders, templates and accounting sync.

Where Jobber is the better choice
Be clear-eyed about this: if you have technicians on the road and your day is deciding who goes where, Jobber is built for you and QuoTrak isn't. The calendar and dispatch board, drag-and-drop scheduling, route planning, online booking, the client hub where customers approve quotes and pay, and two-way texting are mature and well integrated. Jobber also has a larger support operation, more integrations, and a mobile app your whole crew can live in. The price reflects that scope, and for a five-person service company it can be worth it.
Where QuoTrak is the better choice
What you gain
- Margin before you send. Enter your costs and the quote shows profit and margin live. Jobber tells you after the job whether it paid; QuoTrak tells you before you win it.
- A real free plan. Unlimited quotes and invoices, PDF export, customers and a cost catalog, with no expiry. Jobber's free period is a 14-day trial.
- One price. Pro is $12 USD a month on annual billing and nobody counts seats. Jobber's job costing starts at $149 USD a month, plus $29 per extra user.
- Change orders that stay attached to the job. Price the extra, send it, and see the project's quoted-vs-actual update, instead of editing an old quote.
- Xero as well as QuickBooks. Invoices push to either in one click.
What you give up
- Scheduling, dispatch and route planning. QuoTrak has a project calendar, not a dispatch board.
- Online booking and a customer portal.
- Two-way SMS with customers and marketing tools.
- A large, long-established company behind the product. QuoTrak is small and new, and says so.
Switching from Jobber
Export clients and products or services from Jobber as CSV and import them into QuoTrak; Pro includes CSV import and export for customers and the catalog. Open quotes are quickest to rebuild from a template, and any line you save to your catalog keeps its price and costs for next time. Most contractors run both for a couple of weeks: new quotes in QuoTrak, old invoices chased in Jobber, then cancel. If you only want to try the quote builder first, the free quote generator needs no account at all.
Questions
Is QuoTrak a Jobber alternative?
For quoting, invoicing, job costing and getting paid, yes. QuoTrak is built around the quote-to-invoice-to-payment flow with your margin visible as you price. Jobber is a broader field service platform that adds scheduling, dispatch, online booking and customer messaging. If your pain is pricing and getting paid, QuoTrak covers it for a fraction of the cost; if you need to run a dispatched crew, Jobber does more.
How much cheaper is QuoTrak than Jobber?
QuoTrak's Free plan costs nothing and has no time limit; Pro is $12 USD a month billed annually ($144 a year) or $15 monthly, with no per-user fees. Jobber starts at $29 USD a month (Core, one user, billed annually) and job costing starts on Grow at $149 USD a month billed annually, with extra users $29 each. Prices checked on each company's pricing page in October 2026.
Does Jobber show profit margin while you quote?
Jobber's job costing (Grow plan and up) reports profitability on jobs after costs are logged. QuoTrak shows the margin on the quote itself, line by line, as you build it, so you catch an underpriced job before the customer sees it.
Can I move from Jobber to QuoTrak?
Yes. Export your clients and products from Jobber as CSV and import them into QuoTrak (Pro includes CSV import and export). Quotes and invoices in progress are quickest to rebuild from a template; the cost catalog means you only type each line item once.
